Two of the events planned for Monday night’s celebrations of the Euro Changeover have been re-located due to weather conditions in the past days.

“Non solo Napoli”  has been moved to St James Cavalier and the “Orchestra goes Pop” will now be held at the Mediterranean Conference Centre.

No other changes of programme are being considered.  This means that all activities at Marsascala and Victoria will be held according to programme.

All the other evens of the programme will proceed as per original plans.  These will include a concert by the Maltese band Nafra and a Cypriot group at the Lascaris area and a rock concert by local bands at Ta’ Liesse. Bands will include Winter Moods, Ivan Filletti, Screamdaisy and The Characters.

At the Old Power Station, next to the police station at the Valletta Waterfront, a G7 party will still be held as originally planned.

At midnight, in an event held in front of the BOV branch at the Valletta Waterfront, Dr Lawrence Gonzi and Central Bank Governor Michael C. Bonello will withdraw the first Euro notes.

All the events are open to the public and entrance is free. The Euro Night celebrations will also be broadcast live on TVM, NET TV and ONE TV.
