Malta to participate in first Euroskills Competition

The First Euroskills Competition will see hundreds of young European professionals, VET students and graduates, between the age of 17 and 25, competing and demonstrating their skills in almost 50 typical European trades.
 
EuroSkills 2008 provides unique opportunities for the development of new and attractive ways in promoting skilled labour and educational pathways in VET in a European context. 

The EuroSkills event is being organised by Skills Netherlands under the supervision of ESPO (the European Skills Promotion Organisation) in conjunction with WorldSkills. It is being held from the 18th to the 20th September in Rotterdam (The Netherlands)
 
Malta, through MCAST is already a member of ESPO and intends to participate in this first Euroskills competition. Malta will be participating in three disciplines, namely: Light Vehicle Technician (one competitor); Electronic Technician (two competitors) and Web Designers (three competitors).

All Maltese citizens who are over 17 years of age and 25years are eligible to represent Malta in this European Skills Competition.

Applications can be downloaded from www.mcast.edu.mt or collected personally from MCAST, Malta.

Applications are to be posted to MCAST Main Reception, Corradino until Friday 25th April at noon.

Rules and Selection procedures will be forwarded to applicants in due time.

Selection process is planned to be concluded by mid-May.
