Għargħur’s Local
Council is benefiting from HSBC’s new initiative that is helping the
realisation of small-scale projects and programmes in the local community. The Council will utilise the HSBC funds to
restore niches and statutes around the locality, preserving cultural heritage
and embellishing the area.
HSBC Malta is giving
every Local Council in Malta
and Gozo a contribution of Lm1,000 (€2329.37), for community initiatives for
the environment, children, education or heritage in their area.
“Once agreements are reached
with each Council, HSBC will be contributing a total of Lm70,000 (€163,056.14)
to this initiative,” said Shaun Wallis, HSBC Malta’s Chief Executive Officer. “Local Council remits are vast but finances
are limited, and often there are so many little improvements that need to be
done in the local community, so we are delighted to be of help.”
