Malta obtained a record number of points after decades of participation in European Championship and World Cup qualifiers following a most remarkable 2-2 draw with Turkey at the National Stadium on Saturday.

Thanks to an excellent performance, in front of around 12,000 spectators, the Malta national team went close to obtaining a historic win over Turkey as the locals twice had the lead before having to settle for a draw.
