This is yet another proud first for the local supporters’ branch of Manchester United. It is also a unique and exclusive opportunity for other supporters around the world to learn more about the Malta supporters club, which is Manchester United’s oldest and largest officially recognised supporters’ club in the world. The event also forms part of the preparations for the grand celebrations which are to be held next year, the 50th anniversary of the supporters club.   As part of the filming for the MUTV feature a special event is being organised for the general public. The event, to be named MUTV day, will be held on Saturday 17th may at the grand Hotel Excelsior, Floriana and starts at 5.30CET.

Kids animation with face painting, balloon modelling and juggling is being sponsored by McDonalds and starts at 6 pm. Manchester united supporters club will also have a stand where supporters can become members of the local club and one united. Souvenirs will also be on sale. The event will also mark the launch of a book commemorating the 50th anniversary of the local supporters club and which will be published next year. A pre-launch price will be available exclusively during MUTV day. Only 1500 copies of this book will be published so it is sure to become a collector’s item in future.

MUTV crew will also be present during the entire event and will be interviewing local supporters. Supporters are urged to bring flags and scarves to be filmed during the event. A show with cars having a number plate with the letters UTD or in any way relating to Manchester United will also be held. Those who have not booked a space are to email 50year@manutd-malta.com

The highlight of the event will be a fund raising BBQ Buffet at the price of €30 per person, children under 12 half price. Only few spaces are left and please call 99990068 or 99496622 for bookings. The club premises will also be open in the evenings throughout all next week.

A fund raising raffle with special prizes, including a football and shirts signed by Manchester United players, week end breaks, go packages, and other prizes offered by our sponsors, will be held on the night.
