The PN's General Council, entitled Renewing our Success (Ingeddu s-Success), came to an end on Sunday. In his conclusive remarks, Prime Minister Lawrence Gonzi said that the Nationalist Party will continue to guarantee a better future to all thanks to credible and sustainable policies.

Dr Gonzi named the goals his party aims to acheive in the coming years. These are based on three pillars (work, education and the environment) which deal with families. Meanwhile, this year's budget will be a budget for the family, he said.

Speaking about education, the Prime Minister said that thanks to a new MCAST campus in Paola, worth Lm 50 million, students at the College are set to double.  The College currently has an intake of 5,000 students.

While confirming next month's inaguration of the Mater Dei Hospital, Prime Minister Lawrence Gonzi also said that a new system will take place whereby persons entitled to free medicines will be able to collect their medication from pharmacies of their choice.

By the year 2015, the government aim to excel in six particular fields. Malta  will be a regional and European centre within the IT, financial, touristic, manufacturing, education and health sector, Dr Gonzi said.
