In his closing speech at the Nationalist Party general council meeting on Sunday afternoon, Prime Minister Lawrence Gonzi said that the PN’s ambition is to look ahead towards new challenges which would lead the nation to achieve levels of excellency within six economic fields and Gozo within 2015.

Entitled ‘Strengthening our Success Together’, PN councillors debated on the three pillars of Education, Environment and Economy over the weekend.

The Prime Minister said that the biggest challenge is not to find work but to train and educate workers to be capable to fill in the thousands of job opportunities available.

Speaking about the budget set for Monday 15th October, PM Gonzi said it will be a prudent one which will give leeway to the government’s aims of Malta being a centre of excellency.

Present for the PN general council was Coventry City football player Michael Mifsud who recently made international headlines after scoring two goals in a match against Manchester United. The Prime Minister hailed Mifsud as a model for all Maltese, having been successful even though coming from a small country.
