Mintoff visits Electoral Commission at breaktime

Former Prime Minister and ex-leader of the Malta Labour Party has presented himself at the offices of the Electoral Commission in Evans Building, Valletta, where he was expected to submit his nomination for candidature for general elections 2008.

However, he left their offices some time later somewhat disgruntled claiming that he did not submit any nominations but would give details later in a press conference.

Mr Mintoff has presented himself after 1300CET when offices where officially closed for the public.

Nominations will be received by the Commissions until Wednesday 1900CET.
