The Council of the Malta Union of Teachers has congratulated Prime Minister Lawrence Gonzi on his election success.

In a statement, the union said it is looking forward to see a continuation of the positive work in the Education Sector as initiated by the previous minister in the last few years. MUT also wished success to the new Education Minister, Dolores Cristina,  for her work in this delicate and important sector for the country.

MUT said it is willing to co-operate and work hand-in-hand with the minister, as it has always done, so that none of our children are left behind.  This will happen if the Educational Reform brings about the necessary changes in class, whilst all academic staff are given due tangible recognition.
