The newly-appointed Cabinet held its first meeting on Monday morning.  Since Dr Lawrence Gonzi’s re-election as Malta’s prime minister the cabinet has been downsized to eight ministers and six parliamentary secretaries.

The meeting started at 1000CET and covered general topics pertinent to the five year mandate ahead of this government. Present for the meeting was Richard Cachia Caruana, permanent representative to the European Union, who enjoys ministerial rank.
