The Gozo Business Chamber (GBC) and the Gozo Tourism Association (GTA) have called on the government to ensure that there will be permanent representation of the island in the Malta Council for Economic and Social Development (MCESD).

The GBC and GTA welcomed the fact that while some of the existing members are pushing forward for a new set up for this forum, however it also noted that Gozo had remained without its representative on the council.

The organisations also said that they are pleased to note that some of the existing members of the MCESD feel the need for a new set up for this forum which is so important in getting all the social partners to agree on the best way forward for this country.
