60-year-old Maltese national Carmel Vella has been charged with molesting a 16-year-old girl in the Philippines island of Mindanao.

The youth has alleged that while tending to a store in Matina Crossing, the man approached her and asked her to change a bill of 1,000 Philippine Pesos (Lm6, US$20, €15) to smaller change bills, offering her around half the amount as a payment to touch her breast. The man was arrested shortly after the girl fled and contacted the Police.

The man was granted temporary liberty on a bong of 80,000 Philippine Pesos (Lm534, US$ 1,641, €1,243) reported The Mindanao Times.
