Missing Libyan has criminal track record

A Libyan who was reported missing by the police last week had been arrested several times for fraud, attempted murder, hold-ups, robberies, traffic offences as well as for attempting to escape from prison, It-Torca reported on Sunday.

40-year-old Ali Abdalla Elbakoush, a Valletta resident, is mostly specialised in fraud, It-Torca stated. In fact the most recent case he is implicated for is a case of fraud amounting to Lm 7,400.

missingSources close to the police told It-Torca that the Libyan has probably fled from Malta Ali Abdalla Elbakoush has a pending court case and should serve a prison sentence due to the various offences he has committed.

It-Torca listed all the cases Ali Abdalla Elbakoush is implicated for.   These range between 1989 and 2007.

The police are still searching for the Libyan. Anyone informed of Ali Abdalla Elbakoush whereabouts has been called on to contact police, even in a confidential manner on 21 221 111.
