A Qormi man lost his life in his hometown on Thursday afternoon when he fell a height of four storeys.

Preliminary Police investigations revealed that the 73-year-old man was fixing a water tank on a roof of a residence in Bertu Hyzler Street prior to the fall. The man died on location. Police were informed of the incident at around 1240CET.

Duty Magistrate Dr. Edwina Grima was informed of the case and appointed various experts to assist in an inquiry.

Further police investigations are underway.

This is the third tragic death of the week. On Tuesday two construction workers, 44-year-old Godwin Buhagiar from Siġġiwewi and 25-year-old Slobodan Drljic, a Serbian man resident of Guardamangia, both died when a freshly laid roof in Triq Barbara, Ħamrun, collapsed.
