Armed robbers hold up petrol station owner

A petrol station owner was held up by two armed robbers in St Aloysius Square, Birkirkara on Saturday. The man was approached by the thieves who demanded him to hand over a sum of money before fleeing the scene in the company of an accomplice.  

Nobody was injured in the incident.  

Duty Magistrate Edwina Grima was informed of the case and appointed various experts to assist in an inquiry.  

Police were informed of the case at around 1210CEST.  

Investigations are underway.
