Madeleine McCann, a four-year-old British
girl who has been missing since the 3rd of May might have been sighted
in Malta by two tourists in Valletta. The young girl was
kidnapped from a holiday apartment in Praia da
Luz in the Algarve,
Portugal.
Maltese Police are presently investigating the
sighting. The tourists told the Police that the young girl they saw looked
remarkably similar to the young missing child.
According to In-Nazzjon, an official report
was filed with the Police on Saturday.
After a search in Valletta,
which resulted in the negative, stricter controls in all of Malta’s departure points were
ordered. Meanwhile, Police were ordered to carry out intensive searches in
various Maltese towns and cities, mainly those hosting large numbers of tourists.
In-Nazzjon also reported that photographs
of the young girl have been distributed to Police and Officials working at the Maltese
airport and ports.
