Hungarian man drowns at St George's Bay

A 65-year-old Hungarian tourist drowned at St George’s Bay, St Julian’s on Monday afternoon. The man was brought ashore by life guards on site after finding himself in difficulty while swimming.  

However, despite all efforts, the man was certified dead on the spot. 

Police were informed of the case at around 1545CEST.

Duty Magistrate Miriam Hayman was informed of the case and appointed various experts to assist in an inquiry.  

Police investigations are underway.
