Gold items stolen in Birkirkara

An unarmed thief broke into a Birkirkara jewellery shop Tuesday morning escaping with a number of gold items and jewellery.  

The theft, in which no person was hurt, took place in Rabbits Street at 1045 CEST.  Preliminary police investigations have indicated that the value of the stolen items did not exceed the sum of LM 500.  

Police investigations are still underway.
