The Commission for the Administration of Justice has reprimanded two members of the judiciary for holding posts in the sporting sphere of life.

The Commission said Mr Justice Lino Farrugia Sacco, president of the Malta Olympic Committee, and Magistrate Antonio Mizzi, president of the Malta Basketball Association, have broken the code of ethics of the judiciary by holding these posts.

In two separate letters sent two months ago to the defaulters, the Commission said their behaviour affects negatively public faith in the judiciary.   Members of the judiciary are barred from holding posts not related to their role unless they are sanctioned by law.
