21-year jail term for attempted murder

Louis Mallia was jailed for 21 years after he was found guilty of an attempted murder three years ago in Valletta.

The jury delivered a 6-3 verdict on Wednesday and Mr Justice Joe Galea Debono gave a 21-year jail term, taking into account the several convictions of the 39-year-old defendant .

Mallia hit his victim, Gordon Calleja, with a penknife.
