Cigarettes, tobacco stolen in Swieqi hold-up

Three hooded and armed men held-up a 34-year-old man from Sliema on Thursday at around 1200 CET in Triq l-Ilqugh, Swieqi.

Police preliminary investigations revealed that the thieves, who used two vehicles, stopped a van driven by the Sliema man.

A considerable amount of cigarettes and tobacco was stolen.

Duty Magistrate Dr Micallef Trigona was informed of the case and appointed various experts to help him in the inquiry.

Police investigations continue.
