Man and woman arrested over false euronotes

More allegedly false euronotes with a value of less than LM600 were found in an overnight search in Sliema with police arresting a man and a woman in their 30s.

According to a police statement released Tuesday the couple were arrested following a tip off from a suspicious shopkeeper at Windsor Terrace. They were found in possession of the counterfeit euros.

Duty Magistrate Michael Mallia is leading an inquiry while further police investigations are underway.
