55-year-old shop owner robbed €20,000 in Qormi

A 55-year-old man from Santa Venera was held up and robbed  €20,000 in cash by a hooded and armed man. The incident happened on Monday morning  in Tal-Handaq Road, Qormi at around 1130CET.

The victim was leaving his shop when he was approached by the armed robber who grabbed that man’s bag and fled in a waiting car.

The victim himself called at the Qormi police station to report the theft where he was found to have sustained a slight head injury.  This injury was caused as he fell when the thief grabbed his bag.

Further investigations are underway.
