Kalkara man injured by factory machinery in Marsa

A 49-year-old man from Kalkara was injured on Wednesday morning at a confectionaries factory in the Marsa Industrial zone, the police said in a statement.

The accident happened at around 1000CET and preliminary investigations reveal that the man sustained serious injuries to one of his hands caused by one of the factories’ machines. It is also believed the man does not work at the factory.

The victim was rushed to Mater Dei hospital where he was certified to have suffered from serious injuries but is not in danger of losing his life.

Magistrate Dr C Scerri Herrera LL.D.is heading an inquiry.
