Eritrean man seriously injured by a firearm

An Eritrean man was seriously injured after he was hit in his leg by a firearm. The incident occurred at around 05:00CET on Friday in Xatt il-Mollijiet, Marsa.

 

A group of Maltese and a group of foreigners were involved in this incident. Preliminary investigations revealed that one of the Maltese fired a gunshot which hit the Eritrean.

 

The Eritrean man was rushed to St Luke’s Hospital where he was certified to be suffering from a serious injury but was not in danger of dying. The man is being kept in hospital for further observations.

 

Duty Magistrate Audrey Demicoli was informed of the case and several experts were appointed to assist in the inquiry.

 

Further Police investigations are underway.
