Two men are in danger of losing their lives after being involved in separate accidents on Tuesday morning. The incidents happened in two different locations, one in Qormi and the other in Zabbar.

In the first case, at around 1000CET, a 62 year-old man from Qormi was crossing Mdina Road when he was run over by a car. The elderly man was rushed to hospital where he was certified to have suffered grievous injuries and that his condition was critical. The man is a resident of Qormi.

In the Zabbar incident, a man was carrying out some work in a house in Nevew Street when he fell a height of two storeys through a shaft.  The shaft leads to a garage in Alessio Erardi Street so the members of the Civil Protection Department had to be called to remove the man from the site.

The man was taken to Mater Dei hospital and was certified to be in danger of losing his life. The victim hails from Qormi and is 56 years old.

An inquiry is being held for both cases whilst police investigations are still underway.
