A 20-year-old man is in danger of losing his life after a traffic accident in the early hours of Friday morning, the police said.

The incident happened in Mikelang Vassallo Street, Gzira, at around 0300CET on Friday and the man was a passenger in a Ford Fiesta driven by a 19-year-old man who only suffered slight injuries.  Both are from Mosta.

The young men’s car crashed into an electricity pole and members of the Civil Protection Department were called to the scene to remove the 20-year-old from the car wreck.

Magistrate Doreen Clarke is leading an inquiry.

Further police investigations are underway.
