56 illegal immigrants land in less than 12 hours

29 illegal immigrants, 22 men, five women and two babies, have landed at Ghar Lapsi on Friday morning, the police said in a statement.

The police had initially been informed by Fishermen that the immigrants boat was seen heading to Ghar Lapsi bay.

Another 27 migrants landed at Birzebbugia on Thursday evening at around 1900CET.

Further investigations on both cases are still underway.
