Dead body found at sea in Marsaxlokk

A dead body was found at sea in Marsaxlokk on Saturday afternoon at around 18:00CET, the Police said in a brief statement.

The corpse was in an advanced state of decomposition and had no identification documents.

The Armed Forces of Malta (AFM) recovered the corpse of a man and carried the lifeless body on board a boat to the AFM Maritime Base in Haywharf.

Duty Magistrate Dr Micallef Trigona was informed of the case and several experts were appointed to assist in the inquiry.

Further police investigations are underway.
