The owners of two catering establishments in Bugibba were found guilty of illegally employing people and were on Friday fined €1,164 each.

Edward Saliba, owner of the Buccaneer restaurant, and Palabiyik Zafer, owner of Oz Sofra Kebab House both pleaded guilty saying that they resorted to employing a person to substitute a regular employee who had fallen ill.

Magistrate Silvio Meli presided over the case while police inspector Nezren Grixti prosecuted.
