Policeman attempts to strangle wife in Marsascala

A 40-year-old policeman tried to strangle his wife on Thursday morning and soon after called the ambulance for medical assistance, the police said in a statement. The woman is now in a critical condition.

The incident happened at around 0850CET in the couple’s residence in Triq il-Maghluq,  Marsascala.

The woman, 36, was rushed to Mater Dei hospital where she was certified to be in danger of losing her life. The man also had to be medically assisted and was referred to Mount Carmel hospital for further treatment.

Further investigations are underway.
