The lifeless body of a man, believed to be a foreigner, was recovered from the sea in St Paul’s Bay early on Thursday morning.

At around 0400 CET the police were alerted that a corpse was floating in the sea in the area of Dawret il-Gzejjer, St Paul’s Bay.

Preliminary investigations show that the man was not in a state of decomposition and that there were no signs of violence on him. The man is dark skinned, slim and 5 feet 8 inches tall with short dark hair.  He was wearing two t-shirts, one black and one white and tracksuit pants.

A magisterial inquiry was launched whilst police investigations continue.
