More immigrants rescued and brought ashore

After Thursday¡¯s arrival of a group of 135 illegal migrants who were rescued or recovered on the high seas to the south of Malta by the Armed Forces of Malta, yet another group of 27 migrants were rescued on Friday early morning.

The immigrants were rescued by an Italian fishing vessel whilst in a position 40 nautical miles east of Malta after the migrants¡¯ boat started taking in water.
 
The migrants, all male, have now been brought ashore.
