Nobody was injured when a bomb exploded outside of a Mosta
residence on Tuesday night.
The residence sustained a number of structural
damages while some buildings and a car in the vicinity were also affected by
the explosion.
Members of the Civil Protection were called on location to see
to any further hazards. The owner of the residence, Ian Azzopardi, a tax official, was treated for
shock at St. Luke’s Hospital.
Duty Magistrate Audrey Demicoli was informed of the case and
appointed various experts to assist in an inquiry.
Police investigations are underway.
In turn in a statement, the
government condemned the bombing and expressed its solidarity with the victim
and his family. The government also pledged its support to all tax officials who
work to stop fraud and tax evasion.
