Human skeleton remains were reportedly found in a quarry in the limits of Naxxar. Police and forensic experts were called on location to investigate the matter. The find was made at around 1630CET by workers carrying out quarrying activities.

The skeleton was not found intact. Clothing items including a pair of trousers and a pair of running shoes were found on location.

Net News reported that searches for missing 18-year-old Christian Camilleri were underway in the same area last December.

Tests on the remains are expected to be carried out in the upcoming hours.

Duty Magistrate Miriam Hayman was informed of the case and appointed various experts to assist in an inquiry.
