Two women injured in head-on collision

Two women have been injured in a traffic accident in Salina Road, Naxxar, the police said in a statement. The women are a 59 year-old from Sliema and a 51 year-old from Qormi.

The incident happened at around 1430CET and preliminary investigations revealed that there was a head on collision between vehicles driving in opposite directions.

Members of the Civil Protection Department had to be called for assistance whilst an ambulance took the casualties to Mater Dei hospital for further treatment.

The road has been temporarily closed for traffic.

Further police investigations are underway.
