Qormi man dead in St Julians accident; two in danger

undefined undefinedA head-on crash between two cars in St Andrew’s Road, St Julian’s early Saturday morning left a man dead and two persons in danger of losing their lives.

A fourth person is also being hospitalised at Mater Dei following the accident that occurred at 1215CEST when a 33-year-old from Qormi lost control of his Mazda and crashed into a Mercedes Benz coming from the opposite direction. He was certified dead a few moments later.

The 44-year-old from Marsascala driving the Mercedez Benz is in danger of losing his life as is the case with a passenger in the Mazda. A passenger in the Mercedez Benz is being treated for less serious injuries.

Rescuers of the Civil Protection Department were at hand shortly after the accident. Police investigations are underway.
