The Police are trying to determine how a corpse, thought to belong to Christian Camilleri, ended up in the quarry in the limits of Naxxar. Investigations revealed that it is practically impossible for someone to fall or be thrown off a height of about eight metres without hitting the protruding rocks below, It-Torca said on Sunday.

Such a fall would have led to broken bones, sources close to the investigators told It-Torca. However, examinations carried out on the remains seem to indicate that no breakages were endured.

The Police now need to determine if the corpse was laid in the quarry. In that case, investigations might pinpoint towards murder. While Police were leaving all options open, foul play did not originally seem to have been involved in the case.

Meanwhile, DNA tests will be carried out in England next week in order to confirm that the human remains found in the quarry are indeed those of Christian Camilleri, I t-Torca said.

A number of personal belonging including a mobile phone and a necklace found in the quarry had led Police to believe that the human skeleton remains belonged to the missing 18-year-old Wardija youth.
