Two men from Zebbug have been granted bail after being accused in court
with importing and storing fireworks illegally. Bail was granted
against a personal guarantee of €2,000 and a deposit of €2,000 each.
The men are 61-year-old Joseph Calleja from St Paul's Bay, and Carmel
Falzon, 49 of Zebbug, and both pleaded not guilty to storing the
fireworks illegally in a residence at Triq Is-Sindku P Vella, Zebbug.

A 38-year-old man has suffered grievous injuries after he was hit with
a pointed instrument in St Julian’s on Monday evening, the police said.
The incident happened at around 2040CET in Birkirkara Road, St Julians.
The victim is of Uzbeki nationality and although he was seriously
injured he is not in danger of losing his life.

On Monday morning, Tony Armango Zahra, 32 of Mosta pleaded not guilty to trafficking and possession of heroin and relapsing.
Zahra was accused of possession and trafficking of the mentioned drug in
Mosta after his residence was raided on Sunday.

Two men shall be arraigned in court on Tuesday afternoon following another find of illegal fireworks stored in Zebbug, Malta.
Magistrate Giovanni Grixti LLD shall preside over the court, the police said in a statement.

The police arrested six men
from Naxxar, Mosta and St Paul’s
Bay including the owner of a house in Mosta that was raided by the Drug Squad
on Sunday.
An undisclosed amount of
heroin was discovered by the police in the residence.
