Separate finds of two bodies investigated

Police are investigating the discovery of two bodies found in separate locations on Tuesday.  

The first body was found in a burning car near Pembroke’s reverse osmosis plant on Tuesday morning. The victim is a 60-year-old man from San Ġwann., reported Radio 101 News. Police were informed of the blazing Peugeot 106 at around 0715CEST and fire fighters from the Civil Protection Department were immediately dispatched to the area to control the flames.

Police investigations are underway. At this stage, investigations are not ousting any possibility, including that of murder, reported PBS.

According to Radio 101 News, security camera footage will prove crucial to the invetsigations.

Magistrate Dr Jacqueline Padovani Grima was informed of the case and appointed various experts to assist in an inquiry.

This case is among another two where vehicles caught fire in Marsa and San Ġwann between Monday night and Tuesday morning. Nobody was injured in these two cases.

The second body was spotted off the shore of Mġarr Port in Gozo. The Armed Forces of Malta (AFM) informed Police of the case at around 1200CEST. The body, found in an advanced state of decomposition, was recovered and brought ashore at Haywharf in Malta. The victim was discovered wearing a life-jacket.

Magistrate Dr Jacqueline Silvio Meli was informed of the case and appointed various experts to assist in an inquiry.

Police investigations concerning both cases are underway.
