GBC, GTA want representation in Brussels, MCESD

The Gozo Business Chamber (GBC) and the Gozitan Tourism Association (GTA) have called for representation of the island in the Malta Council for Economic and Social Development.  

mgarr gozo The constituted bodies have also urged to be represented in Brussels so that they can be updated of the latest European Commission measures that could affect Gozo.  

In a meeting with Gozitan Parliamentary members Frederick Azzopardi, Dr. Justyne Caruana and Dr. Anton Refalo, the GBC and GTA added that the island should have its own tourism authority.  

The two constituted bodies also emphasised that statistics for Gozo should be published separately from those of Malta, while a statistical office, similar to the of the National Statistics Office (NSO) in Malta should also be set up in the smaller island.
