After a warm reception from youths in Paceville on Saturday,
the Archbishop-elect Mgr. Paul Cremona received an equally enthusiastic response
from children assembled at the Malta Fairs and Convention Centre, in Ta' Qali
on Sunday.
Parents and children flocked to the centre to meet the
Archbishop-elect, who in turn encouraged the youngsters to obey parents as
much as possible, and apologize in the face of wrong doing. Mgr Paul
Cremona also addressed the
parents present at the meeting, urging them to pray with their children.
Mgr. Cremona also told the children to ask their parents to
say a prayer with them before going to sleep. He also told children to love
animals and to treat them well.
The meeting did not lack cheer, with many children waving red,
white and yellow scarves, which organizers of the meeting gave to them.
Some youngsters even brought posters with messages
congratulating Mgr. Cremona on his recent appointment.
In turn later during the day, Mgr. Cremona presided over an
engagement usually reserved for Archbishops when he administered confirmation
to a group of children at the St Lawrence parish church, in Vittoriosa. This
faculty was granted to him by Archbishop Mgr. Joseph Mercieca.
