GRTU has complained about the fact that the Super 5 jackpot was not won this week and this will result in people spending more on lottery tickets rather than on buying goods and services, thus hurting sales in supermarkets, bars, restaurants, household good stores amongst others.

Next week's jackpot is Lm500,000, more than a million euros.

The chamber for small enterprise said it was not consulted when the minister lifted the limit, and that this is fuelling what it described as a ‘national madness’.

GRTU urged government to act quickly to remedy this situation.
