The Naxxar local council has called for a common fund for the victims of a tragedy in the village which claimed the lives of 51-year-old Paul Camilleri, 33-year-old mother of two Sina Sammut and left three victims injured.

The catastrophe happened on Wednesday 12th March and was caused by illegal fireworks held in Mr Camilleri’s garage. Houses on either side of Mr Camilleri’s residence were completely destroyed. Other homes were also damaged.

While thanking agencies which offered support and the general public for taking the initiative of contributing towards funds set up for the victims’ family, the council expressed its wish for a common fund.

This will ensure that all those who have been hit by the tragedy, are ensured a part of these funds, the local council said.

The Naxxar local council has therefore opened two bank accounts which are 400-1706544-1 (BOV) and 059-028290-001 (HSBC).
