APS Bank was the main sponsor of all
restoration works carried out on the Baroque Lunette Painting depicting “The
Massacre of the Knights of Malta at Fort St. Elmo in 1565”. This masterpiece
will be located at the Franciscan Friary in Rabat, Malta. The painting dates back to the first half of
the seventeenth century.
“It is
the Bank’s philosophy to assist in projects and initiatives that are
significant to our cultural heritage. We are pleased to contribute to the
restoration of this Baroque Lunette Painting”, said Mr Alfred Triganza, Senior
Manager - Marketing Unit, APS Bank.
The Caravaggio Foundation entrusted
Mr Albert Briffa with the restoration works.
Fr Marius J. Zerafa, founding member of the Caravaggio Foundation,
thanked APS Bank for its generous financial support, without which this project
would have not been possible to come to fruition.
