The GRTU, the Valletta Local Council and the Ministry of Infrastructure, transport and Communication (mitc) have released plans for the further pedestrianisation of Valletta streets

As of Monday 1st September pedestrianisation will be extended to South Street and St John Street.

Minister Austin Gatt said that this project affects many interests, and the Government is committed to reaching a compromise between the interests of Valletta residents, people who work in Valletta, and Valletta shop owners.

Delivery time of merchandise is being extended to 0930 in light of several shops opening later than 0900.

Dr Gatt also said that he looks forward to delivery in Valletta being done exclusively by electric vehicles, to prevent oil spillage on the paving.
