Poll places Vertigo second in Eurovision semi-final

Olivia Lewis’ Vertigo, representing Malta in the semi-final of the Eurovision Song Contest 2007 placed second as esctoday’s 2007 BigPoll registered its first 1000 votes. Topping the poll was Turkish Kenan Dogulu’s Shake it up shekerim. BelarusWork your magic by Dima Koldun's was the third most voted.

olivia lewisThe first thousand predictions suggest that the ten qualifiers from the 2007 Eurovision Song Contest semi-final will be Turkey, Malta, Belarus, Serbia, Cyprus, FYR Macedonia, Slovenia, Switzerland, Norway and Bulgaria.

Behind the top ten are Andorra, Georgia, Hungary, Estonia and Moldova. Of the most hotly tipped countries to pass to the final before polls opened, Denmark are currently sitting in 16th place, Latvia in 18th and Israel in 25th position.

According to the first results, Croatia, Montenegro and Albania will be in the last three positions.

In turn, British betting company William Hill opened the Eurovision Song Contest book with Malta at odds of 40/1 of winning. Sweden’s  The Ark with The worrying kind are favourite with odds of 4/1. Russia are second favourites with Serebro’s Song Number 1 at 9/1 and third are Greece, Ukraine and Belarus at 12/1.
