Highly rated British outfit
Sidecar Kisses will be playing at Poxx Bar, Paceville on Saturday 12th
May.
Sidecar Kisses have
just a few singles under their belt so far but they have already been
showered with critical acclaim by top UK magazines. The four members of
'grunged-up art rock' band Sidecar Kisses have put together a glamorous musical
force to be reckoned with. Their dual close harmony vocals courtesy of Rhydian
Davies and Ritzy Bryan and roaring buzz-saw guitars are influenced by the
alt-rock American sounds of The Pixies and Sonic Youth, mixed with a
healthy influence of British new wave and post punk.
Supporting Sidecar Kisses
on the night will be local band Retrophytes. Although relatively new to the
scene, Retropythes are already one of Malta's most sought after live
bands. Their elaborate instrumentations and bold songwriting have been compared
to the likes of Muse, Tool and Queens of the
Stone Age amongst others.
DJ Zickler will be spinning
indie tunes before and after the gig.
Tickets at Lm3.50 are available
from Anthony D'Amato in Valletta, Exit in Valletta and Paola, Miss Sixty in Sliema and PrintXPress
at the University
of Malta in tal-Qroqq.
Tickets at the door cost Lm4.
