The much awaited The Great Divide, Recoil’s first album, will be launched with a live performance by the band. The gig will be held on 4th August at Remedy rock club Paceville. Doors open at 2100 CET.

The CD can be purchased directly from the band on the date or from ‘Damage Inc’, Level 0, Savoy Arcades, Valletta.

This Heart Pounding eight track CD highlights the band’s divers musicality, which separates them from different local rock/metal bands. Recoil’s interest in music goes deeper than just the mundane aspects found in today’s extreme styles. Their composition of music reflects this where tracks like ‘Dignity’ and ‘Beneath’ show their subtle moments. The emphasis here can also be put upon the clean vocal melody alongside other vocal variations which put together makes the band’s energy more concrete.

Recoil has now been playing for the past three years and has shared stage with numerous local acts. During this short period of time, the band has acquired a good fan base, both local and foreign. The band is currently composing new material in anticipation of upcoming gigs and also for their second upcoming CD. The band shall be performing some of the new material during the gig together with some of the tracks featured in the CD.

For any details or a sneak–peak of ‘The Great Divide”, tracks could be found on their myspace page.

The Recoil Band members are Luke Briffa (drums), Robert Attard (guitars), Keith Cordina (vocals) and Alan Portelli – iz-Zir (Bass).
