Local band Xtruppaw has just released a new anthem for the Malta National Football Team supporters. The song is titled Forza Malta (B’Ghajta Wahda), and was specifically composed for South End Core, a recently founded group of supporters for the national football team.

The music was written by Xtruppaw, as well as most of the lyrics, with the exception of a few phrases suggested by Mario Camilleri. The anthem was recorded at the end of July by Steve ‘Lombardo’ Attard, and was officially released last week.

This song is planned to be used for the first time during the forthcoming UEFA EURO 2008 qualifying football match between Malta and Turkey on the 8th September at the National Stadium, Ta’ Qali.

The anthem is publicly available entirely for free in mp3 format, and can be downloaded from Xtruppaw’s website.

Currently Xtruppaw are busy writing new songs for their second album, which they will be recording in the near future.
